2025 Oyster Gardening Kick-Off

June 26 marked the official start of the 2025 oyster gardening season. This year there are 9 organizations participating at 10 separate locations. With the help of community organizations and volunteers, we hope to raise over 50,000 oysters this year. All oysters go back to oyster spawner sanctuary reefs in the waterway in which they were grown. Oysters are being held in crates hanging off docks and every 2 weeks through October volunteers remove predators, clean the oysters, and clean the cages. We are excited for the season, and stay tuned for updates from our volunteers and host organizations.
